About brattkort

Brattkort is Norsk Klatreforbund's (the Norwegian Climbing Federation) universal proof of basic safety competence — a lead-climbing certification that gives you access to climbing walls all over the country. Our course runs over a weekend, Saturday and Sunday at 4 hours each, and covers both top-rope and lead climbing. After the course you sit the Brattkort test separately with us; you get a temporary course certificate valid for 2 weeks while you practise for the test. Built on Norsk Klatreforbund's course template, with a focus on belaying technique, equipment use and how to conduct yourself in a climbing centre.

• 8 hours with an instructor: 4 hours Saturday + 4 hours Sunday
• Top-rope and lead climbing covered by the course
• Minimum age 13 — under 18s need a guardian's consent
• The Brattkort test is taken separately after the course
• Temporary course certificate valid for 2 weeks after the course
