What data we collect

When you send a message via the contact form, we store your name, email address and the content of the message. When you visit playground.no, we collect anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics 4 — only after you have given your consent via the cookie banner.

What we use the data for

Contact details are used to reply to your enquiry, and are followed up via our CRM (HubSpot). Usage statistics help us understand which pages work well and which ones we need to improve. We never sell personal data.

If you have consented to marketing, we also measure how our ads perform. To do that we share a purchase ID, the amount and an ad click ID with Google Ads and Meta, so a purchase can be tied to the ad you clicked. We never share your name, email or phone number in clear text. If you do not consent to marketing, nothing is sent to these services.

Cookies and consent

We only set strictly necessary cookies before you give your consent. If you choose “Accept all”, we may also set analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and marketing cookies. One of the latter is pg_click_ids, which stores the ad click ID from Google or Meta for up to 90 days so we can see which ad led to a purchase; another is pg_first_touch, which remembers for up to 90 days which campaign you first arrived from, so we can tell whether an ad started a purchase you later completed directly. Both hold only campaign labels from the link you arrived on — never your name or contact details — and neither is ever set unless you have consented to marketing.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via “Manage cookies” at the bottom of the page. If you withdraw your marketing consent, we also delete the pg_click_ids and pg_first_touch cookies. You can also delete the cookies for playground.no in your browser — we will ask again on your next visit. You are also welcome to contact us at post@playground.no if you want us to delete data we have already stored.

Training partner

If you use «Find a training partner», we store the profile you fill in yourself: which activities you want to train, your self-reported level and belay certification if any, and a display name consisting of your first name and an initial («Kari N.»). We also store the sessions you create or join, and the messages in a session thread. We verify against your membership account that you are 16 or older, but only store the fact that the requirement is met — not your date of birth.

If you opt in to email notifications, we store the email address from your membership account in order to send them. Turning the notifications off, or deleting your profile, deletes the address.

Messages in a session thread are deleted automatically 30 days after the session has started. You can delete your training partner profile at any time from the profile page — this removes your profile, sessions, availability and notifications. Your Playground account is unaffected.

Two exceptions to that deletion, to protect other members: If someone reports a message, we take a copy of the reported content at the same time. That copy is kept longer than the 30 days messages otherwise live, so that we can handle the case even if the message has been deleted in the meantime — and it is deleted once the case is closed. If an account is banned from the training partner feature, the ban persists even if the profile is deleted; otherwise it could be circumvented by simply creating the profile again. In that case we store only the customer number, the timestamp and the reason.

If you block another member, we store the fact that the two of you should not see or be able to contact each other. You can remove the block from your profile page.

Storage period and your rights

Contact-form messages are stored for up to 24 months before they are deleted. Analytics data is anonymised after 14 months. You have the right to access, rectification, erasure and data portability — contact us at post@playground.no.

Complaints and contact

If you believe we are processing personal data incorrectly, you can lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.no). Data controller: Playground forus AS, Tvedtsenteret, Lagerveien 2, 4033 Stavanger.
